At its simplest, work life spillover refers to the fact that positive or negative events in your personal life impact your work life. And vice versa. You have probably felt stressed out on your days off close to a deadline. Or struggled with struggled with staying focussed on your work when the health of a loved one was a concern.
Whether those events in question are major or minor, they are never easy to navigate. Sometimes it is not even a single event, but ongoing stress from one area that spills over into other parts of your life. You might or might not be lucky enough to be surrounded by people with empathy for your situation. But nevertheless, there are some things that you can and must do to support yourself.
