Why I now offer Personal Power Audits to clients

On Tuesday’s session of the Leadership Lab (my group coaching programme for aspiring women leaders under 33), we discussed why it is important to carefully evaluate what kind of role you apply for, and to create a proper strategy for your job search, rather than a knee-jerk reaction to every opportunity you come across.
Like with anything, when you start with clarity, focus and intention internally, you project that kind of energy externally that ultimately increases your chances of getting a positive response.
But that’s not how we always show up - we are human after all, so you have to make some effort to put yourself in the right headspace.
Which is an inside job, first and foremost.
In every moment we have a particular sense of where our power lies and this level fluctuates throughout the day, depending on what that day brings.
You might deliver a great presentation, then receive a question right after which puts you on the spot and makes you feel like you know nothing. You might solve a problem and enjoy the kudos from your manager, then the tone of a client email leaves you once again doubting yourself and feeling shame because everyone on the team has been CC'd.
So having an awareness of where you are on the personal power scale is priceless - because it not only gives you a chance to look inside and see where your mindset is getting in your way, but it also gives you a chance to modulate how you show up externally to the outside world.
If there is one thing I have seen constantly in my work supporting women on building confidence since 2021 is how dejected they become after putting in sometimes years of hard work and dedication to their projects, only to be met with a NO when they ask for a promotion, usually because they don't appear to be ready for their next level.
Which can be crushing, especially when the feedback is vague and unclear about what they need to do or change to be considered for that next role.
This told me that there was an energetic component that wasn't being articulated: something that was almost or perhaps more important than any particular actions or behaviour that would change the destinies of those women.
So I got to work on developing a scale for personal power to give my clients self-awareness: and a head start, so that they could not just put together a powerful job application or business case for a promotion or pay rise, but they could match those things with the right energy going into their interview, performance review or negotiation.
When you sign up for Aspire & Ascend we will start with a Personal Power Audit so that you can identify from Day 1 of our work together how you can show up more powerfully and confident as the leader you want to be, even when life keeps happening.
Building that kind inner equilibrium step by step will give you an unshakeable confidence that will free your energy to do more and be more at work, without any extra effort.
Isn't that what we all need as women - better results with having to constantly up the effort we put in?
So think about what possibilities could open up for you when you walk into a meeting or an interview or a review or simply into your workday feeling more confident and powerful.
